For travelers with disabilities visiting Argentina, there are a number of wheelchair accessible hotel rooms in Buenos Aires.
I have stayed in five Buenos Aires hotels, but only found four of them to be accessible. Information and pictures of these accessible hotels have been shared below. Please note that this is not a complete list of accessible hotels in the city, only those which I have stayed in and verified.
Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center
The Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center is located only a short walk/roll away from Torre Monumental and General San Martin Plaza in the city’s Retiro neighborhood.

Accessible guest rooms have a roll-in shower with grab bars, an accessible toilet and plenty of space to move a wheelchair around in the room. All together, the Sheraton Convention Center is one of the nicest hotels in Buenos Aires.
Here are some measurements of the room:
- Bed height to top of mattress — 25 inches.
- Clear space under bed — 6.5 inches
- Sink height; free space under sink — 34 inches; 28 inches, but not extending beneath the entire sink.
- Toilet bowl height — 20 inches
- Toilet grab bar height — 33.5 inches
- Shower seat height — 20 inches
- Shower grab bar height — 36 inches

Ibis Buenos Aires Congreso
This ibis Buenos Aires Congreso is a budget hotel located on Congressional Plaza, just two blocks from the Argentine National Congress building.

For about $30 per night, you can reserve one of the hotel’s 3 wheelchair accessible rooms, with a roll-in shower and toilet with grab bars. These are the measurements:
- Bed height to top of mattress — 22 inches, plus 3 inches for mattress topper.
- Clear space under bed — 10 inches
- Sink height; free space under sink — 35 inches; 28 inches
- Toilet bowl height — 20 inches
- Toilet grab bar height — 30-31 inches
The hotel is a bit worn, but the accessibility features, great location and price make it a winner in my book.
Ibis Styles Buenos Aires Florida
The ibis Styles Buenos Aires Florida is a brand-new hotel opened in 2020. It is located at the intersection of the iconic Florida Street and Corrientes Ave., close to many restaurants and shops.

For about $45 per night, you can be at the heart of the Florida Street action. The hotel’s two accessible rooms each feature bathrooms that are wet-rooms, with in-floor drains in multiple locations. One potentially frustrating issue is that the sink’s water faucet is on a short timer, and you will need to press the lever multiple times to use it for an extended period. Here are some measurements of the room:
- Bed height to top of mattress — 22 inches, plus 4 inches for mattress topper.
- Clear space under bed — 8 inches
- Sink height; free space under sink — 36 inches; 29 inches
- Toilet bowl height — 20 inches
- Toilet grab bar height — 31 inches
- Shower seat height — 20.5 inches
You can’t go wrong with the ibis Styles hotel, its updated look, great value and very good accessibility in one of the most popular tourist spots in Buenos Aires.
InterContinental Buenos Aires
The InterContinental Buenos Aires Hotel is located in the city’s Monserrat neighborhood, just a few blocks from the historic Plaza de Mayo. It is also nearby the major city bus thoroughfare on Avenue 9 de Julio.

The guest room was spacious, but the bathroom was cramped. It was a challenge to access the roll-in shower, which has a glass door. The door can be removed by the hotel’s maintenance department, which will make things easier – but at the risk of soaking the bathroom floor. If you can get this hotel for a good price, the location is superb.
