With accessibility on the rise in South Africa, there are many options for wheelchair accessible hotel rooms in Cape Town. Accessible guest rooms are much more likely to be found at the global hotel brands you would recognize – IHG, Hilton, Marriott, Starwood, etc.

When deciding on a particular hotel, it is important to seek out information on access before booking a room. Ask about everything—door width, thresholds, shower/tub set-up, bed height, grab bars, shower chairs—to avoid a surprise when you arrive.

I’ve taken the time to compile a list of hotels in Cape Town which advertise handicap accessible rooms (some with roll-in showers). This is not a complete list of accessible hotels in the city.
