Just passing through DCA on my way to Florida, but it was a pleasure to experience the iconic “River Visual” landing today — with a superb view of the National Mall. Have to love our nation’s capital city! 49 1
In today’s edition of the Wheelchair Travel Newsletter, I shared the following quote by Robert Louis Stevenson: "We are all travelers in the wilderness of the world, and the best we can find in our travels is an honest friend." 87 10
Gediminas was the Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1315 or 1316 until his death in 1341. He founded what is now the country’s capital city of Vilnius, and is one of the most important figures in the country’s history. 49 1
Two summers ago, I explored the San Bernardino National Forest as part of a California road trip. While in Big Bear City, I took a helicopter ride with my sister from Big Bear Airport, circling the city’s lake and flying over its forested mountainsides. 57 6
Bratislava, Slovakia is located just an hour by train from Vienna, Austria. The city’s historic Old Town is a true marvel and, although it is beautiful, accessible and affordable, it continues to be overlooked as a destination. Visit WheelchairTravel.org and check out the FREE accessible travel guide for Bratislava! 72 1
A couple nights ago, I went out for a drink with one of my friends in Boston. We met some flight attendants who were out to dinner and struck up a conversation. Long story short, I ended up flying back with them to Europe the next day. If you keep an open mind, always respond in earnest to a “hello,” and find joy in chance encounters, serendipity awaits! 180 20
Best view in 2022? That’s a tough one, but I’ll go with my first time back inside the Colosseum in over 10 years! It was a delight to find it largely wheelchair accessible. 73 3
I took my first two flights with @fly_fijiairways this week — Boeing 737 MAX 8 service from Wellington, New Zealand to Nadi, Fiji, and Airbus A350-900 XWB service from Nadi to Los Angeles, California. 168 15
After spending a few days in Auckland, I made the trip to Wellington — New Zealand’s capital city. To say that it’s gorgeous here would be an understatement. The people, food, architecture and natural landscapes captured me immediately. While I’m sad to only visit for a day, I know that I will return soon! 57 2
Gratitude. Exhibiting gratitude is my 2023 goal and I’m extremely grateful for this wonderful day in Melbourne to close out the first month of the New Year. 101 9

Had a super fun night at the Australian Open and met up with Wheelchair Travel reader David at the ladies’ final! Great 3-set match that saw 4 match points before Aryna Sabalenka claimed the title. Loved everything about my night at Rod Laver Arena and the Happy Slam! 89 3
