Costa Rica is a country known for its extraordinary natural beauty, rich culture, and diversity of experiences: Visitors will tour Pacific coastlines and volcanic rainforests, discover Indigenous traditions and contemporary art, and encounter quiet farming villages and some of the world's most celebrated biodiversity. On this tour, we explore all of it — through cultural encounters, culinary experiences and immersive moments that go beyond what most travelers ever get to see. The itinerary has been designed with accessibility at the center — so that you can experience Costa Rica without compromise.

Trip Itinerary

I have crafted this itinerary by bringing together a carefully selected network of local and regional partners; experts in accessible tourism who have the knowledge, equipment, and staff to ensure that every traveler's needs are met at each point of the journey.

The benefit of experiencing Costa Rica as part of this accessible group tour is that it opens the country up in a way that would be difficult or cost-prohibitive to replicate on a solo trip. By traveling together, we are able to prepare the way for wheelchair users and travelers with disabilities, accounting for everyone's needs from the Pacific coast to the rainforest canopy. There is truly no better way to visit Costa Rica with a wheelchair.

Day 1 (December 1, 2026): Arrival in San Jose

I will be waiting for you in the Arrivals Hall at the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), and you will be transported by our driver in a wheelchair accessible vehicle to the Four Points by Sheraton San Jose for check-in.

Take the afternoon to rest or explore the local area on your own, before meeting the group for a welcome dinner (included), where we will get to know one another and discuss the tour itinerary.

Included meals: Dinner

Day 2 (December 2, 2026): Costa Rican Culture, Coffee and Connection

Today, you will connect with the essence of Costa Rica.

Begin with a Coffee Tour, where you’ll discover the story behind one of the country’s most iconic exports. Through an accessible experience, you’ll engage your senses with aromas, flavors, and traditions — followed by a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, dive into Costa Rica’s cultural heritage with a visit to a local museum, offering insight into the country’s history and identity.

In the evening, experience something truly special: a private gathering with disabled artist Jairo Mora Moscoso, who is acclaimed for painting with a brush in his mouth. It will be an experience where art and storytelling come together in a meaningful way.

Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3 (December 3, 2026): Costa Rican Biodiversity and the Pacific Coastline

Today, we will check-out of our hotel in San Jose and travel toward the Pacific coast, where landscapes begin to change and the adventure expands.

Enjoy a scenic drive with a stop at Las Pumas Rescue Center, an inspiring project dedicated to wildlife rehabilitation and conservation. Here, you’ll connect with Costa Rica’s biodiversity and learn about efforts to protect it.

Following our tour of the sanctuary, we will enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch surrounded by nature at Hacienda La Pacífica (included).

By late afternoon, we will arrive at our beach hotel in Tamarindo, the Wyndham Tamarindo. Settle in, relax, and enjoy dinner with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

Included meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Day 4 (December 4, 2026): Beach Day!

No trip to Costa Rica is a complete without time spent at the beach. We bring accessibility to the Ocean and, with the support of an amphibious chair, you will have the opportunity to enter the sea safely and comfortably.

Relax, enjoy the sun, the breeze and the rhythm of the Pacific.

In the evening, we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant to close out our perfect day.

Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 5 (December 5, 2026): Arenal Volcano

We will say goodbye to the coast — after checking out of our hotel, we will travel inland toward one of Costa Rica’s most iconic regions: Arenal.

Enjoy the scenic journey as landscapes shift from dry forest to lush rainforest. Upon arrival, we will check-in to the Arenal Springs Hotel, which is surrounded by nature and stunning views of the Arenal Volcano.

Dinner will be served at the hotel (included), where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 6 (December 6, 2026): Immersion in the Costa Rican Rainforest

Today, nature and culture will come together.

We will begin the day with a guided visit to Mistico Hanging Bridges Park, where you will explore the rainforest from a unique perspective on a series of bridges! Accessible routes allow you to experience the richness of biodiversity, from towering trees to wildlife hidden in the canopy.

In the evening, we will enjoy a deeply authentic experience at Vida Campesina. Share time with a local family, cook traditional dishes, learn local customs and celebrate Costa Rican culture through music and dance.

Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 7 (December 7, 2026): Artisanal Costa Rica

After checking-out of our hotel in Arenal, we will begin the journey back to the capital city of San José. This is not just a travel day, however, as we will stop in beautiful Sarchí, the artisan heart of Costa Rica.

There, we will participate in a hands-on workshop, painting our own traditional oxcart wheel, which is a colorful symbol of Costa Rican heritage and a wonderful memento of our journey.

We will enjoy a group lunch (included) before continuing to San José for our final night together.

Included meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Day 8 (December 8, 2026): Farewell and Departure

After checking out of the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in San José, our driver will transport you to the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) for your departing flight.
