Presented in a format that is accessible and designed to be barrier-free, this tour provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Australia!
Trip Itinerary
I have crafted this engaging accessible trip itinerary while bringing together a variety of local and regional partners, experts in accessible tourism who have the knowledge, equipment and staff to ensure that our needs are met.
The benefit of this accessible group tour to Sydney is that it opens the city and country up in a way that would be very difficult or cost-prohibitive to accomplish on a solo trip — through this group tour, we are able to account for everyone’s needs by preparing the way for wheelchair users and travelers with disabilities, while offering a truly incredible experience at an affordable price. I am confident that there is no better way to explore Sydney with a wheelchair!
Day 1 (February 8, 2026): Arrival in Sydney
I will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD), and you will be transported by our driver in a wheelchair accessible vehicle to our hotel in downtown Sydney for check-in.

Our accessible hotel is located right in the heart of Sydney — steps from the Town Hall and just four blocks from Hyde Park (Sydney's equivalent of Central Park). The wheelchair accessible guest rooms are spacious and include accessibility features such as a roll-under sink, toilet with grab bars, and roll-in shower with a built-in shower seat. Should you require alternate equipment to make your trip or stay more accessible, we can research and provide options for local equipment rentals.
Take the afternoon to rest or explore the local area on your own, before meeting the group for a tour orientation and dinner in the hotel restaurant. We will describe the tour itinerary in detail, and I will be available to answer any questions you have.
Included meals: Dinner
Day 2 (February 9, 2026): Royal Botanic Gardens and Opera House
We will start the day with a guided tour of the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney, which is regarded as one of the most important historic botanical institutions in the world. Opened in 1816, the garden is a mandatory addition to any Sydney tour itinerary.

Following our tour, we will walk, wheel or ride to the precinct surrounding the iconic Sydney Opera House. We will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before our private guided accessible tour of the performance venue.

The February 2026 schedule at the opera house has not yet been posted and, although a live performance is not included in this tour, you are welcome to see a performance on a night of your choosing. You can walk or take public transportation to the venue, or we can arrange a private transfer for an additional fee.
Included meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Day 3 (February 10, 2026): Historic Sydney and Sunset Harbour Cruise
After breakfast, we will take a short drive to the historic Rocks precinct. The Rocks is a neighborhood in the shadow of Sydney Harbour Bridge, where street food and handmade fashions are sold in open-air markets.

We'll enjoy a guided tour through the neighborhood, then take a break to find lunch. If you fancy a cold one, The Rocks is home to some of Sydney’s oldest pubs!
After lunch, we will return for an afternoon rest at the hotel, before meeting again to enjoy a sunset dinner cruise on the stunning Sydney Harbour.
Included meals: Breakfast and Dinner Cruise
Day 4 (February 11, 2026): Blue Mountains Excursion
Today, we will travel to the Blue Mountains, a scenic destination characterized by eucalyptus forests, sandstone cliffs and valleys. We will enjoy the stunning scenery and charming towns as our expert guide introduces us to the UNESCO World Heritage- listed region.
We will see iconic landmarks like the Three Sisters rock formation, while also visiting a wildlife park and enjoying a cable car ride and rainforest valley boardwalk. A picturesque lunch in a cafe overlooking the scenic valleys will follow.
Included meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Day 5 (February 12, 2026): National Gallery, Bondi Beach and High Tea
Following breakfast, we will drive to the Art Gallery of New South Wales, where we will enjoy a guided tour of the Australian, European and Asian art collections. We will have the unique opportunity to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.

Next, we will enjoy sightseeing and free time for lunch at Sydney's most popular beach, Bondi Beach! The beach is wheelchair-friendly with an access ramp, beach matting and beach wheelchairs. You'll have time to enjoy a swim should you desire!

Before we return to the hotel, we will enjoy a taste of Australia's English heritage, with a High Tea experience in a historic house and tearoom.
Included meals: Breakfast and High Tea
Day 6 (February 13, 2026): Free Day in Sydney
Enjoy a free day to explore Sydney at your own pace — visit an accessible beach, see a show, or do some shopping! I will be plotting a route from the hotel to a few of my favorite spots — You’re welcome to join me, or go your own way.

There is nothing scheduled on the itinerary on this free day (it's completely yours!), but be sure to rest and prepare for a thrilling day of exploration on Day 7!
Included meals: Breakfast
Day 7 (February 14, 2026): Manly Beach and Taronga Zoo
In the morning, we will transfer from the hotel to the ferry terminal at Circular Quay, where we will hop aboard a Harbour ferry to Manly Beach. The ferry crosses Sydney Harbour and delivers one of the most scenic journeys in the world.

After arriving, you will have an option to visit the beach (you can pre-book a beach wheelchair if you desire), or walk to the nature reserve. Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the local restaurants, before regrouping to travel to our afternoon activity — the iconic Taronga Zoo!

The Taronga Zoo is home to 2,000+ animals from 150+ species, and it has one of the most spectacular backdrops of any zoo — the Sydney Harbour and city skyline. Travelers can opt to book private experiences, such as an up-close encounter with the resident koala bears (sorry, touching the animals is not allowed!).
Included meals: Breakfast
Day 8 (February 15, 2026): Southern Highlands
In the morning, we will depart Sydney for Australia's wine region, the Southern Highlands. The cool temperate climate, charming towns and wineries will deliver a respite from the hustle-and-bustle of Sydney, allowing us to relax and enjoy a lovely excursion.

We will enjoy lunch, followed by stops at two stylish and wheelchair accessible wineries. We will enjoy tastings at both, sampling the distinct flavors present in Australian wines.
Included meals: Breakfast and Lunch, plus 2 wine tastings
Day 9 (February 16, 2026): Local District Tour and Farewell Dinner
Today, we will enjoy a private guided tour of Sydney's inner city area, famous for its colorful street art and vibrant cultural scene.

We will enjoy a light lunch pieced together from a series of small, local venues, together crafting the perfect meal. After lunch, we will return to the hotel for free time or rest, before meeting again for an evening dinner.

At approximately 5 p.m., we will depart the hotel for the Sydney Tower Eye, an observation tower that is the tallest building in Sydney. There, we will enjoy a meal more than 80 stories up, taking in the beautiful surroundings as we prepare to bid farewell to one another.
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
