The City of Prague is served by Vaclav Havel Airport Prague (PRG). It is located approximately 6 miles west of the city center, and is connected to the central train station by the Airport Express Bus. More than 11 million passengers used the Prague Airport in 2014, making it the busiest in the Czech Republic.
The airport contains four terminals, numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4. Terminals 3 and 4 are reserved for charter, private and VIP flights. Terminal 1 handles all flights arriving from, or departing to destinations outside the Schengen Area. Terminal 2 handles all traffic to/from cities within the Schengen Area.
I have only used the PRG airport on one occasion, in January 2016, on an intra-EU flight between Prague and Amsterdam. This flight (with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines) departed from Terminal 2, which was built in 2006. Because I arrived late to the airport (1 hour, 15 minutes before departure), I did not have time to fight KLM for the right to take my wheelchair to the gate. I have been told by other readers that personal powered wheelchairs can be taken to the gate, and are taken down to the apron/tarmac via an AmbuLift or catering truck. I had confirmed this service with KLM at the time of booking, so I am not sure why I received pushback at the airport.
I was pushed to the gate in an airport wheelchair. The gentleman responsible for pushing me was very friendly, and attended to my needs perfectly.
Wheelchair users are offered expedited screening at security. Because I departed from Terminal 2 and had a flight to a city within the Schengen Area, I did not get to experience passport control. Accessible restrooms are located throughout the terminals.
I have compiled a list of airlines providing passenger service from the two passenger terminals. Please check with your airline for your terminal and gate information, prior to arriving at the airport.

Wheelchair Accessible Transportation to/from Prague Airport
As outlined in the Prague Public Transportation section of this accessible travel guide, the Airport Express Bus offers service to/from PRG. Bus numbers 100, 119, 191 and night bus 510 also offer service at both terminals of the airport. The buses used on these airport routes are wheelchair accessible via a boarding ramp. Wheelchair accessible taxis can also be requested at the airport, but wait times may be up to 1-2 hours if not ordered in advance.
Your Rights and Check-in
If you have arrived to, or departed from Prague on a direct flight from an airport in the United States or were a passenger on a U.S. carrier (to any destination), file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Transportation for a violation of your rights under the ACAA if you have any problems or are made to wait more than 30 minutes for the return of your mobility equipment.
All passengers, especially disabled travelers, should arrive at the airport for check-in two hours prior to the departure of their flight.
