Rome has recently expanded its fleet of wheelchair taxis to include 200 additional adapted vehicles, for a total fleet size of 140. While wheelchair taxis are available during the daytime hours, they may not be available late at night.
Wheelchair taxis in Rome are equipped with rear-entry ramps that can be folded out to allow a wheelchair user to roll easily in and out of the vehicle. Each wheelchair taxi has a securement space and safety tie-downs/straps to accommodate one manual or powered wheelchair. Passengers can remain seated in their wheelchair for the entire journey.
Wheelchair taxis can be ordered through itTaxi, a taxi dispatch mobile application for your smartphone, which is downloadable from the Apple or Android app stores.

Within the app, riders should identify as wheelchair users using the "ride configuration" menu.
Additionally, wheelchair taxis can be ordered by calling the taxi dispatch at Radiotaxi 3570. For critical trips to the airport or train station, it is recommended to make a reservation 12 to 24 hours in advance. The contact information for the Radiotaxi company is listed below:
