I was born in Cape Town in December 1969 into a previously disadvantaged background with SA history. After a motor vehicle accident in 1995 I was left a wheelchair user and a c6/7 quadriplegic. I make use of a motorized wheelchair as it gives me the independence I love. As far as challenges go, I have been there and done it with a closet full of T-shirts! LOL!!
Cape Town was one of the cities selected to be part of a pilot project on UNIVERSAL ACCESSiBiLiTY. As such it is fundamental for players within the hospitality sector to offer accessible accommodation & amenities. I specialize in wheelchair accessible transport, whether for tours, transfers from point to point or vehicle hiring for self-drive (only company in SA).
I am proud to say I have played & continue to play a vital role to ensure an awareness & willingness to make our City & the surrounds as wheelchair accessible as possible.
Why visit Cape Town & surrounds:
TripAdvisor had this to say…
- First in the Top 25 Destinations in Africa category
- Second as Top 10 Culture & Sightseeing Destinations in Africa
- Fourth as Top 10 Outdoor & Adventure Destinations in Africa; and last but not least
- Second as the Top 10 Food & Wine Destinations in the World (Western Cape).
The best time of year to get the most out of Cape Town is generally in our summer season between December to March, however our winters are mild with almost no snow or temperatures under 0 degrees Celsius. Our whale watching season is Sept/Oct & our Cape West Coast Flowers are in full glory in Aug/Sept.

I am Renè Moses, the owner of Travel with Rene
My vehicles have been adapted with a hydraulic wheelchair lift to cater for wheelchair users, their families and companions. The wheelchair is mounted by means of x4 floor restraints, securing it to the ground. A body belt is placed around the wheelchair user & the wheelchair to ensure their safety.

My daughter and I recently travelled to Africa. My daughter uses an electric wheelchair and to see the sites we require the use of a wheelchair accessible vehicle. On the 4-5-6th of February we were in Cape Town, South Africa and used Travel with Rene. What an absolutely fabulous time we had. For 3 days and one evening we went and saw everything in the Cape Town area using Travel with Rene’s modern wheelchair accessible vehicle. Arnold the driver was fantastic and did over and above the call of duty. We saw everything and had heaps of fun along the way. As we were on a cruise ship which does not provide tours and access for people confined to wheelchairs none of this would have been possible without Rene and the fabulous Arnold. A great service and highly recommended for any travelers to Cape Town and surrounds.

It is with pleasure that I provide a reference for Travel with Rene.
This company has collected me, and efficiently and with care delivered me, in my wheelchair, to go shopping, visit my dentist and my optometrist. Due care and supervision is given when I am loaded and unloaded from the van via the hydraulic lift. I feel safe and cared for at all times.
Yours faithfully,
