I’m currently staying at #CaesarsPalace in #LasVegas for the first time. It’s quickly become one of my favorite properties on the Vegas Strip, with fantastic accessibility and a stunning, surely timeless design. 97 7
If you could attend ONE SHOW right now, what would it be? I would like to go back to Andrew Bird’s performance in Washington, D.C., where he was accompanied by the symphony orchestra. It was magical! 40 4
On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, I find myself thinking to the first days, weeks and months after my car accident, where I felt ashamed of my disability – where I felt less than, for reasons that were both obvious (I’m missing a few limbs!) and invisible (the emotional stresses of an uncertain future). 189 9
#Gezellig is an untranslatable Dutch word – No single English word or combination of words can truly capture its meaning. I describe this mysterious word and a moment where I experienced gezellig (it is a feeling) in a post available at WheelchairTravel.org. Check it out! 51 2
My quarantine mood is about the same as Oscar’s. 61 0
Do you enjoy visiting art museums? I love them. They are cathedrals of creativity, on display for all to see. Visiting art (and history, culture, etc.) museums is one of the things I miss most about travel. I typically average at least one new museum a week! 176 2
One of the things I miss most about travel are the chances to escape ground level. I miss flying and the views from 30,000 feet, obviously, but I also miss being at the top of tall buildings and towers. The beauty – and the perspective – is something I cherish. 59 2
Hanging out with the Chinese President during the Umbrella Movement in 2014. 80 0
The Pittsburgh Pirates have one of the most accessible ballparks in all of Major League Baseball. I am looking forward to the resumption of America’s pastime! 78 3
Many restaurants in America are beginning to reopen, albeit at limited capacity. I miss dining out, and hope to enjoy a good meal at a restaurant again soon. But I’m not comfortable going out yet. 📸 @travelzork 98 16
Through flight, we are able to gain a new perspective on the world beneath and around us. And the views are amazing, too, particularly when landing on Runway 15L/R at Boston’s Logan Airport. That skyline! 60 1
Missing two of my favorite things right now – My St. Louis Cardinals and the delicious @imospizzastl. I hope we’ll continue our national recovery and have the opportunity to see some baseball this year! 104 9
