Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) traditionally welcomes more than 5 million passengers per year and is served by more than 10 different airlines, with the 5 largest being Southwest, Delta, American, United and JetBlue (in that order).

The airport has a single terminal, divided into concourses B, C and D. TSA security checkpoints are located at the entrances to each concourse, which are not connected airside. Passengers moving between concourses will need to clear security again.
Airlines & Concourses

At the time of writing, the following airlines provide service to Southwest Florida International Airport, and they operate out of the concourse indicated:
Concourse B
- Air Canada
- Alaska Airlines
- Frontier
- Southwest
- Sun Country
Concourse C
- Delta Air Lines + Delta Connection
- United Airlines + United Express
- WestJet
Concourse D
- American Airlines + American Eagle
- JetBlue
- Spirit
Because each of the 3 concourses are located in a single terminal, check-in is easy. Passengers should find their airline’s ticket counter, then follow the airport signage to the proper concourse/security checkpoint and ultimately to the designated boarding gate.
For domestic flights, it is recommended that passengers with disabilities check-in two hours prior to departure. For international flights, passengers are advised to arrive three hours prior to departure.
Special Assistance Services & Accessibility at Fort Myers Airport
Disability assistance services should be requested prior to travel and through your airline. Consult this list of wheelchair assistance contacts at major airlines. If you are traveling with a personal wheelchair, it is possible to gate-check the device, whether it is manual or powered.

The airport’s bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and outfitted with ADA stalls for wheelchair users and people with disabilities. A number of private family restrooms are available in the airport as well. I inquired about whether there are currently plans to include adult changing tables in the upcoming terminal expansion, and was told that there are no such plans. If you would like to see an adult changing table at the RSW Airport, I encourage you to reach out to the airport’s ADA Coordinator to make the recommendation.

Southwest Florida International Airport provides service animal relief areas in the following locations:
- Lower level, Door 1 — Outside, next to the terminal building.
- Lower level, Door 6 — Outside, next to the terminal building.
More information on accessibility and disability assistance is available on the Southwest Florida Airport website.

Airport wheelchair taxis
MBA Airport Transportation, LLC is a collective, comprised of multiple taxi cab operators from Lee County. RSW Airport requires MBA to make two wheelchair accessible vehicles available to travelers during the airport’s hours of operation. Taxi cab rides originating at the airport are subject to a flat rate, ranging from $10 to $140, depending upon the zone traveled to. A map of the zones and the current flat rate taxi rates is provided below.
The cost of a taxi cab from the airport to downtown Fort Myers is $35. The 24-hour airport taxi dispatch service can be reached via telephone at +1 239-482-2777. More information is available on the airport taxi website.
Hotel shuttles
None of the hotels in the area that provide airport shuttle service have an accessible hotel shuttle vehicle, but they must cover the cost of an alternative (such as a wheelchair taxi) consistent with the ADA regulations.
