For travelers with disabilities visiting the State of Florida and popular theme parks like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld, finding wheelchair accessible hotel rooms in Orlando just got a lot easier. In this guide, you’ll find photos and descriptions of ADA accessible rooms at more than 25 Orlando-area hotels, organized by neighborhood.
As a frequent visitor to Orlando, I have personally stayed in many of the city’s hotels — including budget properties like Motel 6 and luxury accommodations like the Grand Bohemian. Some hotels are more accessible than others, but I have included information and pictures of the accommodations I’ve visited in this guide to Orlando hotel accessibility. I encourage you to share details of other hotels where you have stayed in the comments below. Please note that this is not a complete list of accessible hotels in the city, only those which I have personally stayed in and verified.
Hotels marked with a star emoji (⭐) are properties that I highly recommend — justification for each recommendation is provided.
Wheelchair Accessible Hotels in Downtown Orlando
Many Orlando visitors never explore downtown, which is a big mistake as it’s home to popular attractions like the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Amway Arena (home of the NBA’s Orlando Magic), Lake Eola Park (with accessible paddle boats!), incredible restaurants and much more. The following hotels are located in the heart of Downtown and offer varying levels of accessibility to meet guest needs.
Courtyard Orlando Downtown
The Courtyard Orlando Downtown has recently undergone a remodel (these photos are from before that was completed). For accessibility, the hotel earns an ‘A’ rating.

The roll-in shower features a folding wall-mounted seat, with water controls and a removable showerhead within reach. There is space to park a wheelchair directly alongside the toilet and it is possible to roll a wheelchair under the sink.
To research room rates or make a reservation, visit the Courtyard Orlando Downtown website.

Grand Bohemian Orlando, Autograph Collection
The Grand Bohemian Hotel is a luxury hotel in Downtown Orlando, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The property has a distinctly independent, dare I say bohemian, feel. It’s a cool property, but its accessibility may leave you wanting, as was the case for me.

Let’s start with the good: The bathroom features a roll under sink and there is space to park a wheelchair directly alongside the toilet for safe lateral transfers.
The bad: Accessible rooms are only available with a king size bed and, while there is a pull-out sofa, it’s incredibly uncomfortable. No rollaway beds were available. The roll-in shower is not ADA compliant and there is no wall-mounted shower seat. You’ll have to make do with a portable shower chair, unless you travel with your own.
For some additional detail, I recorded the following measurements of the room:
- Bed height to top of mattress — 26 inches.
- Clear space under bed — 6.5 inches
- Desk height; clearance under desktop — 31 inches; 25.25 inches
- Sink height; free space under sink — 34.5 inches; 28.75 inches
- Toilet seat height — 17.5 inches
- Toilet grab bar height — 34 inches
- Shower grab bar height — 37 inches
To learn more about the hotel or to make a booking, visit the Grand Bohemian Orlando website.
Marriott Orlando Downtown
The Marriott Orlando Downtown is just a few blocks away from the city’s public transportation hub, Lynx Central Station. Here, travelers can catch city buses with service to all points in Orlando and to the airport.

The Marriott has recently undergone an extensive remodel, with lowered beds in accessible guest rooms and hard floors — manual wheelchair users, rejoice!

Unfortunately, someone dropped the ball with bathroom accessibility — there isn’t a single room with an ADA compliant roll-in shower, and some are missing grab bars altogether.
Rooms with the accessible bathtub are ADA compliant, however, with a secure bench at the rear of the tub. If you’d prefer not to use the seat, it folds up and out of the way. Although the property hasn’t shown much interest in correcting the accessibility barriers (I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times), perhaps these photos appearing online will incentivize them to remediate the roll-in showers. 😜
If you’d like to make a reservation, you can do so via the Marriott Orlando Downtown website.

Residence Inn Orlando Downtown ⭐
Built in 2015, the Residence Inn Orlando Downtown is one of the newest hotels in the City Beautiful. Located on the corner of Orange Avenue and Colonial Drive, the hotel is within walking distance of downtown office buildings, restaurants and attractions, as well as Lynx central station, with connections to city bus and light rail. The modern amenities of the Residence Inn, including a full kitchen, provide for a comfortable short or long-term stay. As one of the most accessible hotels in Orlando, it is definitely worth considering for your next Florida vacation.

Why I recommend this hotel: Wheelchair accessible rooms feature an ADA compliant roll-in shower with a folding, wall-mounted shower seat. The toilet is also accessible, with grab bars and plenty of space to park a wheelchair directly alongside for safe transfers. The hotel’s indoor swimming pool is open year-round and features a chair lift for disabled access.
For more information about this hotel, read my detailed review of the Residence Inn Orlando Downtown. To make a room reservation, visit the Residence Inn Orlando Downtown website.
Wheelchair Accessible Hotels Near Walt Disney World
The following hotels are located near Walt Disney World and most offer a complimentary shuttle service to the Disney theme parks. You’ll potentially save a lot of money by staying at a hotel that isn’t on the theme park premises.
Delta Hotels Orlando Lake Buena Vista
The Delta Hotels Orlando is located right outside of Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista and provides complimentary scheduled transportation to and from Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios theme parks. Guests should notify the hotel in advance of their need for a wheelchair accessible shuttle ride.

The property is older and isn’t subject to some of the more recent ADA regulations, such as providing clear space for a wheelchair to park alongside the toilet. The toilet is positioned next to the roll-under bathroom sink.
Roll-in showers at the property are not ADA compliant. The shower’s water controls and handleld showerhead are placed out of reach — on the wall opposite the built-in shower seat. A portable shower stool is provided.
If the accessibility of this hotel will meet your needs, you can learn more on the Delta Hotels Orlando website.

Marriott Orlando World Center Resort ⭐
Located a short drive from Walt Disney World, the Orlando World Center Marriott is one of the largest and most wheelchair accessible resorts in Orlando, Florida. With 1,883 guest rooms and 121 suites, the resort has plenty of space to accommodate families and groups of all sizes. Handicap accessible hotel rooms feature updated decor, comfortable bedding, free wi-fi and ADA compliant bathrooms, making it a great choice for travelers with disabilities.

Wheelchair accessible rooms feature an ADA compliant roll-in shower with a folding, wall-mounted shower seat. The toilet is also accessible, with grab bars and plenty of space to park a wheelchair directly alongside for safe, lateral transfers. The resort’s multiple swimming pools and hot tubs each feature a chair lift for disabled access. Paved pathways throughout the resort make it easy to get around.
For travelers visiting the theme parks, the hotel provides complimentary wheelchair accessible shuttle service to Walt Disney World. Accessible shuttles feature a wheelchair lift and securement straps.
For more information about this hotel, read my detailed review of the Orlando World Center Marriott.
Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort
I have stayed at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort countless times — it’s an affordable property that is part of Disney’s “Good Neighbor” program. The hotel offers free transportation to Disney’s transportation center and Disney Springs. From the Disney Transportation Center, visitors can take free wheelchair accessible shuttles to Disney’s theme parks.

Like most of the hotels in Orlando, the Sheraton does not have ADA compliant roll-in showers, as there is no wall-mounted shower seat. The hotel provides a portable chair for use in the shower.
Despite the lack of a proper shower set-up, this hotel is a great choice for families. It’s significantly cheaper than Disney-owned hotels, can provide free accessible transportation to Disney and has larger rooms designed for families (including an accessible room with two bunk beds in addition to a king size bed)! The resort features a lovely outdoor space, a large swimming pool with a chair lift and some nice on-site dining options.
If you think this hotel will meet your needs, you can make booking via the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort website.

SpringHill Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista in Marriott Village
The SpringHill Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista hotel is located inside the Marriott Village, a grouping of three Marriott hotels including a Courtyard and Fairfield Inn. Guests staying at the SpringHill Suites can also utilize the amenities at the Courtyard and Fairfield.

Part of Disney’s “Good Neighbor” program, the hotel offers free transportation to the theme park — wheelchair users should notify the hotel of a need for accessible transportation.
Guest rooms at the SpringHill Suites are nice, but there are some limits to accessibility. Only a portable chair is provided in the roll-in showers and the toilet’s proximity to the roll-under sink makes it impossible to park a wheelchair directly alongside.
For more information or to make a reservation, visit the SpringHill Suites Lake Buena Vista website.
Wheelchair Accessible Hotels Near Universal Studios, International Drive and the Convention Center
International Drive is a massive draw for tourists, with attractions like a wheelchair accessible Ferris wheel, Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum, the Titanic Artifact Exhibit, Fun Spot America (where I rode my first roller coaster as a wheelchair user) and more! I-Drive is also close to Universal Studios and the Convention Center, which makes it one of the most convenient places to stay in Orlando.
Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection
Want to treat your family to a stay in a castle? The Castle Hotel, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, is designed to appear like a castle on the outside, but its gorgeous interior is anything but medieval.

Located on Universal Blvd, the Castle Hotel is near the Orange County Convention Center, International Drive, Pointe Orlando and Orlando’s theme parks.

Guest room accessibility is adequate, with a roll-under sink and a toilet with grab bars. Roll-in showers are available, with a built-in shower seat that folds out of the way and water controls that are within reach.
For more information or to make a reservation, visit the Castle Hotel website.

Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive
The Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive hotel is in a great location on, you guessed it, International Drive. Universal Studios is only a mile away and, as a Universal Partner Hotel, the Four Points offers a complimentary shuttle to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay. Wheelchair users should provide advance notice of the need for an accessible shuttle.

The Four Points is not a luxury hotel brand, but the rooms are comfortable. Guest room accessibility will meet the needs of most travelers, though the seat provided in the roll-in shower is not placed in the proper location. A portable shower chair can be provided. The affordability of this hotel, together with its convenient location, has kept me coming back to this property, where I have stayed at least five times.
To check room rates or make a booking, visit the Four Points by Sheraton website.
Hilton Orlando
The Hilton Orlando hotel is a fantastic choice for both business travelers and vacationers. The hotel is connected to the Orange County Convention Center via a covered outdoor walkway, and the hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to all three Universal theme parks.

The guest rooms are comfortable with delightful beds, and they’re large enough to accommodate power wheelchairs.

Bathroom accessibility is fair — the accessible toilet with grab bars and roll under sink are great, but water controls and the handheld shower head are out of reach of the built-in seat. A portable shower chair is provided to overcome this barrier.
For more information or to book a stay, head over to the Hilton Orlando website.

Hyatt Regency Orlando ⭐
The Hyatt Regency Orlando is a wheelchair accessible hotel in Orlando, Florida. The hotel’s location on International Drive and across from the Orange County Convention Center attracts both business travelers and tourists. With 1,639 guest rooms, the Hyatt Regency is one of Orlando’s largest hotels.

Accessibility in the hotel bathroom was great, with a roll-in shower featuring an accessible bench and water controls within reach. An accessible chair lift located at the hotel’s giant swimming pool allows for disability access.
For more information about this hotel, read my detailed Hyatt Regency Orlando review.
Motel 6 Orlando International Drive ⭐
Often overlooked by many travelers, the Motel 6 brand is making progress on guest room accessibility. The Motel 6 hotel on Orlando’s International Drive was the first Motel 6 I stayed at and it’s high level of accessibility came as a surprise to me. An ADA compliant roll-in shower at a hotel that often costs less than $100 per night, when some of the $500+ per night hotels on this list are noncompliant? Big wow!

Why I recommend this hotel: The Motel 6 Orlando International Drive’s accessible guest rooms have hard floors throughout (no carpet) and an ADA compliant roll-in shower (really hard to find!). All of this comes at a remarkably affordable price. — It’s not a luxury hotel, but you’ll save hundreds by staying here.
To make a reservation, visit the Motel 6 website.

Rosen Shingle Creek ⭐
Locally owned by an Orlando businessman, Rosen Shingle Creek is an expansive hotel, resort, conference center and golf course all packaged into a single property located near the southern end of Universal Blvd.

Guest room accessibility is wonderful, with an ADA compliant roll-in shower, accessible sink and a toilet with grab bars. It’s a comfortable place to stay in the general area of the action, but it may not be as convenient to attractions as other properties on this list — you’ll definitely want a car!
For more information or to book a room, visit the Rosen Shingle Creek website.
SpringHill Suites Orlando Convention Center/International Drive Area
One of my favorite places to stay on International Drive is the SpringHill Suites Orlando Convention Center/International Drive Area hotel. It’s in a great spot with lots of restaurants nearby and the convention center is a short walk or roll away.

Guest room accessibility is good enough for most travelers, with grab bars for safety and a convenient roll-under sink. The roll-in shower lacks a built-in seat, but a portable chair is provided. For some additional detail, I recorded the following measurements of the room:
- Bed height to top of mattress — 28 inches.
- Clear space under bed — 7 inches
- Desk height; clearance under desktop — 31 inches; 27.5 inches
- Sink height; free space under sink — 34 inches; 27 inches
- Toilet seat height — 17.5 inches
- Toilet grab bar height — 37.75 inches
- Shower grab bar height — 37 inches

Wheelchair Accessible Hotels Near the Orlando Airport (MCO)
The following hotels are located nearby the Orlando International Airport, including one located inside the airport terminal building. Some of the offsite hotels provide complimentary shuttle service, but not all hotels have accessible shuttle vehicles. Be aware that any hotel offering shuttle service to nondisabled guests is required to provide an equivalent alternative service to disabled travelers with the accessibility features they need, such as a wheelchair lift or ramp.
Courtyard Orlando Airport
The Courtyard Orlando Airport hotel is a modest hotel near to the Orlando Airport

The Courtyard provides shuttle service to/from the airport, but its vans are not wheelchair accessible. Due to the ADA requirements for hotel shuttles, the property is obligated to pay for a wheelchair taxi in both directions.
For more information or to reserve a room, visit the Courtyard Orlando Airport website.
Courtyard Orlando Lake Nona ⭐
The recently constructed Courtyard Orlando Lake Nona is a delightful property with the Courtyard brand’s updated interior — it has a fresh feeling, and perhaps a new hotel smell. The hotel is within walking or rolling distance of Nemours Children’s Hospital, the Orlando VA Medical Center and the University of Central Florida’s Lake Nona Hospital. The Orlando International Airport is located 7.4 miles away — while there is no hotel shuttle service, city bus #407 stops nearby, with the ride to the airport terminal lasting only 26 minutes.

Guest rooms are spacious, with ADA compliant accessible bathrooms. During my stay, I enjoyed a room with a king size bed (31 inches tall, but with free space underneath for a transfer hoist), a roll-in shower with folding seat, a toilet with grab bars and space to park a wheelchair alongside, and a roll-under sink.
For more information and to book a room, visit the Courtyard Orlando Lake Nona website.

Fairfield Inn Orlando Airport
The Fairfield Inn Orlando Airport is one of the older airport-area hotels, but can be a great choice if the in-room accessibility will meet your individual needs.

Roll-in showers do not feature a built-in seat and a portable stool is provided instead. The sink has space for a wheelchair user to roll under, but it is located directly alongside the toilet which could make transfers difficult for some disabled guests.
The Fairfield Inn provides shuttle service to/from the airport, but its vans are not wheelchair accessible. Due to the ADA requirements for hotel shuttles, the property is obligated to pay for a wheelchair taxi in both directions.
Room reservations are accepted via the Fairfield Inn Orlando Airport website.
Hyatt Place Orlando Airport ⭐
The Hyatt Place Orlando Airport hotel is located in a complex of hotels along South Semoran Boulevard. While it’s a bit of a walk or roll, there are a number of restaurants within the area, as well as a movie theater.
In July 2022, the Hyatt Place Orlando Airport acquired a wheelchair accessible shuttle, making it the only Orlando airport hotel with an accessible shuttle capable of accommodating wheelchair users.

Why I recommend this hotel: The roll-in showers and bathtubs don’t have ADA compliant seats, but this airport hotel has a wheelchair accessible shuttle. That’s a big deal since it’s the only Orlando Airport-area hotel to have one.
For more information or to book a room, visit the Hyatt Place Orlando Airport website.

Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport
The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport is located inside the airport terminal, pre-security. If you’re looking for an airport hotel, it doesn’t get much easier than a hotel inside the airport — but nightly room rates are higher than the off-airport options.

The hotel is probably accessible enough, at least for my needs. I stayed in a room with a transfer shower — transfer showers are 36 inches square, so everything is within reach. The Hyatt Regency is a fine place to sleep if you’re arriving late to the airport or departing early, but there won’t be much to do inside the airport on a longer stay.
Room rates and availability can be found on the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport website.
Marriott Orlando Airport Lakeside
I have been staying at the Marriott Orlando Airport Lakeside since before I was a wheelchair user and, while I loved the hotel in my pre-disability days, there are more accessible options in the area.

Accessible rooms in the property are small and the bathrooms are even smaller. Although my power wheelchair will fit in the bathroom space, there is no room to park it directly alongside the toilet. The roll-in shower has a built-in seat, but the controls are out of reach and a portable shower chair has to be used.
The Marriott offers complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport, but its vans are not wheelchair accessible. Due to the ADA requirements for hotel shuttles, the property is obligated to pay for a wheelchair taxi.
Additional information and more recent photographs are available on the Marriott Orlando Airport website.

Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel
The Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel is a lovely property that offers accessible guest rooms with ADA compliant roll-in showers. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport, but its vans are not wheelchair accessible. Due to the ADA requirements for hotel shuttles, the property is obligated to pay for a wheelchair taxi in both directions.

Guest room accessibility is very good, with an ADA compliant bathroom featuring a roll-in shower with folding seat, space to park a wheelchair next to the toilet and a roll-under sink.
If you’d like to learn more or make a reservation, visit the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel website.
Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport
The Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport is an all-suite hotel that provides guests plenty of space and a touch of luxury near the Orlando International Airport. Complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport is provided, but the hotel’s vans are not wheelchair accessible. Due to the ADA requirements for hotel shuttles, the property is obligated to cover the cost of a wheelchair taxi in both directions.

Accessible suites feature comfortable beds coming in at a height of 25 inches, with 6 inches of clear space underneath the bed for a transfer hoist. Bathrooms are accessible: bathtubs feature a rare ADA compliant seat that secures to the side of the tub; roll-in showers feature a wall-mounted folding seat within reach of the water controls.
For more information or to book a room, visit the Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport website.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
SpringHill Suites Orlando Airport
The SpringHill Suites Orlando Airport hotel may not offer the most accessible guest rooms near the Orlando Airport, but it oftentimes comes in at a competitive price point.

Guest rooms are large, offering not only one or two beds, but also a sofa. The roll-in showers include a built-in seat, but the controls are out of reach. The hotel will provide a portable shower chair upon request. The bathroom sink is not a typical roll-under one, and I had to park my wheelchair sideways in order to use it.
The SpringHill Suites has an airport shuttle, but its vans are not wheelchair accessible. Due to the ADA requirements for hotel shuttles, the property is obligated to pay for a wheelchair taxi in both directions.
Room reservations can be made via the SpringHill Suites Orlando Airport website.
Wheelchair Accessible Hotels Near the University of Central Florida
The following hotels are in close proximity to one of the nation’s largest universities, the University of Central Florida, which has more than 60,000 students enrolled.
Courtyard Orlando East/UCF Area
The Courtyard Orlando East/UCF Area is located less than half a mile from the entrance to the University of Central Florida’s campus. Its recently updated guest rooms are a solid choice for accommodation in the area.

Accessible guest rooms at the property feature roll under sinks, a toilet with clear space for a wheelchair directly alongside and roll-in showers. The roll-in shower does not have a built-in seat, but a portable chair can be requested.
To book a room, visit the Courtyard Orlando East/UCF Area website.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Fairfield Inn & Suites Orlando East/UCF Area ⭐
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Orlando East/UCF Area is my top choice for accessible hotel accommodation near the University of Central Florida campus. The hotel is incredibly wheelchair-friendly, with ADA compliant bathrooms that remove many of the hassles common at other hotels on this list.

Why I recommend this hotel: ADA compliant roll-in showers are difficult to find, but the Fairfield Inn Orlando East/UCF Area has one — if you need a room in this part of Orlando, you can’t go wrong here. The hotel also has ADA compliant bathtubs, with a secure seat that is attached to the wall and folds out of the way.
To make a reservation at this top-rated accessible hotel, visit the Fairfield Inn Orlando East/UCF website.
