Richmond International Airport (RIC) welcomed nearly 5 million passengers in 2023 and is served by many of the largest U.S. carriers. American Airlines and Delta Air Lines each transport about 20% of all Richmond passengers, with the remainder carrying fewer than 10% each.
The airport a single terminal building that is split into two concourses, lettered A and B. TSA security checkpoints are located at the entrances to each concourse, and the concourses are not connected airside. Passengers moving between concourses will need to clear security again.

At the time of writing, the following airlines provide service to Richmond International Airport and operate out of the concourse indicated:

Because both concourses are located in a single terminal, check-in is easy. Passengers should find their airline’s ticket counter, then follow the airport signage to the proper concourse/security checkpoint and ultimately to the designated boarding gate.
For domestic flights, it is recommended that passengers with disabilities check-in two hours prior to departure. At this time, no international flights depart from Richmond but, should that change, airlines advise passengers to arrive three hours prior to scheduled departure.
Special Assistance Services & Accessibility at Richmond International Airport
Disability assistance services should be requested prior to travel. If you have not yet made a request for assistance, be sure to contact your airline or consult this list of wheelchair assistance contacts at major airlines.
For those traveling with a personal wheelchair, it is possible to gate-check the device at Richmond International Airport, regardless of whether it is manual or powered. I found that, upon arrival to Richmond, my wheelchair was delivered promptly.
The airport’s bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and outfitted with ADA stalls for wheelchair users and people with disabilities. A number of private family restrooms are available throughout the airport and in both concourses. There are currently no adult changing tables at Richmond International Airport. If you would like to see an adult changing table at the Boston airport, I encourage you to reach out to the airport’s ADA Coordinator to make the recommendation.
Richmond International Airport provides a service animal relief area outside of the terminal building on the lower level, in the plaza between the North and South parking garages. There is no service animal relief area beyond the airport’s security checkpoints.

Airport wheelchair taxis
The airport website states that the following taxi cab companies provide wheelchair taxi service, however I have been unable to confirm that (Airport Taxi reported their accessible van was undergoing repairs).

There are no wheelchair accessible Uber or Lyft vehicles with a ramp available in the Richmond region.
Public transportation
The GRTC Transit System provides city bus service in the City of Richmond and Henrico County, and parts of Chesterfield, Goochland, and Hanover Counties. Richmond International Airport is served by bus routes 7A and 7B, which provide hourly service between the airport and downtown Richmond.
