Most of my wheelchair travel guides feature a simple list of hotels that I have vetted for their accessibility. Gibraltar, though, is a special case. The territory contains only a small number of hotels, and the majority are not barrier-free or accessible.
In this article, you will find a list of wheelchair accessible hotels in Gibraltar. Understand that each hotel offers accommodations with differing levels of accessibility. Because I was unable to tour every property, I have sourced much of this information from the Gibraltar Tourism Board. If you have traveled to Gibraltar and stayed in a hotel, please share what you can about your experience with accessibility in the comments below.

The Rock Hotel
In preparation for my own trip to Gibraltar, I made a reservation at The Rock Hotel. I selected this hotel with the understanding that it is the most accessible hotel in the territory. It did not disappoint. The accessible room I stayed in offered a roll-in shower, toilet with grab bars, a bed at the appropriate height and an accessible balcony.

Caleta Hotel
This hotel offers a level entrance and elevator access to a portion of the rooms. Per the hotel, the door will need to be removed from the bathroom to permit wheelchair access. A ramp makes access to the restaurant possible, but the pool cannot be reached by wheelchair users.

Sunborn Yacht Hotel
Located in Marina Bay, the Sunborn Yacht Hotel is just that – a floating yacht containing hotel rooms. A ramp makes barrier-free access possible from the dock, and the hotel says that all rooms offer wheelchair access. It is not clear whether proper roll-in showers are available.
