For travelers with disabilities visiting Utah’s capital city, there are a number of wheelchair accessible hotel rooms in Salt Lake City.
As a wheelchair user, I have personally stayed at only two hotels in SLC, but found them both to be largely accessible. I have included information and pictures of those hotels here, and encourage you to share details of others where you have stayed in the comments below. Please note that this is not a complete list of accessible hotels in the city, only those which I have stayed in and verified.
Salt Lake City Marriott City Center Downtown
Located downtown and in walking distance to restaurants, museums and a light rail stop, the Salt Lake City Marriott City Center is a great choice for tourists and business travelers alike. The hotel has a modern design, with hard floors in guest rooms and accessibility features that set it apart from most other hotels.
Here are some measurements of the room:
- Bed height to top of mattress — 26 inches.
- Clear space under bed — 7 inches
- Sink height; free space under sink — 32 inches; 27 inches
- Toilet bowl height — 18 inches
- Toilet grab bar height — 35 inches
- Shower seat height — 18 inches
- Shower grab bar height — 33.5 inches

Courtyard by Marriott Salt Lake City Airport
For travelers looking for a hotel that is nearby the airport, the Courtyard by Marriott Salt Lake City Airport might fit the bill. The hotel is a bit dated, but it should meet most travelers’ accessibility needs. What’s especially great is that the hotel is one of the few with a wheelchair accessible shuttle to pick guests up from the airport.
Although the roll-in shower did not have a built-in shower seat, the toilet was accessible and the room had an electronic door controlled with the press of a button. I unfortunately forgot to measure the room’s features, but would estimate the bed height at 28 inches.
