Washington, D.C.

Wheelchair Accessible Travel Guide

Overview

America’s capital city, filled with monuments, museums, history, art & architecture, offers something for both foreign tourists and citizens of the United States. Admission to the national museums is free to all. Washington, D.C is featured at #3 in my Top 5 Most Wheelchair Accessible Cities in the United States list. The city is one of the world’s most wheelchair accessible.

All three branches of the federal government are centered in Washington. Wheelchair users can easily see the White House, Capitol Building and the Supreme Court of the United States. The national monuments, including the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial and Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial are completely accessible.
